How to Remove Trojan Horse Generic

Trojan Horse Generic8 is a member of the Trojan Generic family of Downloader Trojans. A Downloader Trojan is a Trojan that, once installed on your computer, downloads additional Trojans, viruses, and adware onto your computer. In addition, Trojan Horse Generic8 may slow your computer and flood your computer with popup advertisements. The easiest way to remove Trojan Horse Generic8 is to run your antivirus program, but if that does not work, you can remove the virus manually.


Instructions
 
End Infected Processes
  1. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete. 
  2. Click on the "Task Manager," and then click on the "Processes' tab 
  3. End all of the processes located under the "Stop Trojan Generic Processes" heading (see Resource below).
  4. To end a process, right-click on it and select "End Process." 


         
Delete Infected Files



  1. Click on the "Start" menu.
  2. Click on the "Search Programs and Files" box.
  3. Search for and delete the files located under the "Delete Trojan Generic Files" heading (see Resources).
  4. To delete a file, right-click on it and select "Delete."
     
           
Delete Infected DLL Files
  1. Hold down the Windows key and press "R." The "Run" box opens. 
  2. Type "cmd" (without the quotation marks) into the "Run" box, and click "OK." The command prompt opens. 
  3. Type “regsvr32 /u SampleDLLName.dll" (without the quotation marks) into the command prompt and press "Enter." Note that "SampleDLLName.dll" should be replaced with the DLL file located under the "Get Rid of Trojan Generic DLLs" heading (see Resources). Do this for every DLL file listed.
      
 Delete Infected Registry Keys
  1. Hold down the Windows key and press "R." The "Run" box opens.
  2. Type "regedit" (without the quotation marks) into the "Run" box, and click "OK." The Registry Editor opens.
  3. Delete the registry keys located under the "Remove Trojan Generic Registry Keys" heading (see resource below). 
  4. To delete a registry key, locate it in the left pane of the Registry Editor, then right-click on it and select "Delete."
